I've wanted to make one of these since I saw them online, but I wanted something that I could say I made. I found some cheaper kits with very basic designs and/or thinner materials. I liked the "We the People" themed ones, and I came across the video on this one and fell in love with it. I wanted some more welding experience, especially since I just got into TIG welding, so this was perfect. I reached out to an old friend with his own fab company, and I asked him if he'd cut it out for me. I bought the file, sent it to him, he cut it out, and then we met up and I put it together. I did have to source a small section of 1.5" tube because I only had 1.25". Idk if the exhaust/chimney damper was in the file, because he cut it out for me, but I had to go and buy some steel for that. I used some prevailing torque nuts for the fill cap and damper because nylon would obviously melt. It keeps it as tight or as loose as you'd like it, and it won't loosen up. I don't want to have to paint it, so my plan was to heat it, oil it, heat it, oil it, and see if it'll season it like a wok. So far it seems to have worked, but only time will tell. Very happy with the design, look, and overall layout.
